What can you do with a piece of string?

In our session with Lucy, we were all given a piece of string - the same length, which we'd use to create a piece to exhibited at the end of the session. We could still infact add anything to the string and use it in anyway. Although I found this challenging to think of something to create with a metre of string, I went in search of different materials in my studio to see what I could combine with the string to create a piece. 

Although I had previously done site specific pieces, which I had created on the day for the space - in the space. This was a different way to look at creating a exhibition,.. looking at all starting off with the same material but seeing how we can use it and develop it differently. 

 

I decided to cut up my piece of string and combine the string with brown tape. This separated the pieces up and created a x-ray like effect. Focusing on the form and movement of the string.
